Yakima, Wash.- The West Coast League named Devlin Granberg (SR Dallas Baptist) the 2017 All-Star Game Most Valuable Player.
The Dallas Baptist power bat hit two home runs as the starting designated hitter in the number three spot in the lineup of the mid-summer classic to propel the South Division to a 5-2 victory over the North Division.
Granberg's first dinger, a two-run blast, came in the bottom of the first inning to make it 2-0 South Division. The second one, a solo shot, came later to make it 3-1.
Granberg came into the All-Star Game third in the WCL with eight home runs. Devlin is also second in slugging percentage, seventh in batting average, eighth in on-base percentage and ninth in runs batted in.
Granberg has hit seven of his eight home runs this season over 13 games in the month of July.
