Game Story. Kelowna, BC. July 9, 2013.- Tuesday night in Kelowna was one that the Black Bears would rather forget, as they lost to the Falcons 15-4.
The Falcons jumped on the board early, with four runs in the bottom of the first inning. After a scoreless second, the Black Bears tallied two runs in the top of the third on consecutive singles by Ryan Aguilar (Santa Ana) and Kyle Knigge (LC State), and a double by Devyn Bolasky (UC Riverside).
From there the night belonged to the Falcons, who put the game out of reach with five runs in the fourth to take a commanding 10-2 lead, the big blow being a three-run home run by Grayson Porter. The Falcons' fifteen runs and sixteen hits both were season highs against the Black Bears.
Aguilar and Knigge had multi-hit nights for the Black Bears, with Aguilar extending his streak of reaching base safely to twenty three games. Bolasky extended his hitting streak to thirteen games.
The Black Bears will look to take the series as they take on the Kelowna Falcons in the rubber game of this three game series tomorrow night, first pitch scheduled for 6:35pm.
