Longview, Washington

West Coast League Baseball enters its 5th season in Cowlitz County. That means fun, outrageous, and entertaining promotions throughout the entire season. The Cowlitz Black Bears have released their 2014 Promotional Schedule, and it's packed with fireworks displays, giveaway nights, the return of "The Hippest Nerd in Da Biz" Myron Noodleman on JH Kelly Night July 24th, and a brand new and exciting promotion that gives every Black Bears fan in attendance a chance to win a brand new car.

$5 Preview Night kicks off the season on Thursday June 5th. All tickets are $5, and there will be lots of $5 specials on merchandise, concessions, and more.

West Coast League play begins on Friday June 6, as Kapstone Paper & Packaging presents Black Bears 2014 Opening Night.  Sheriff Mark Nelson will be on hand to honor America, the family of Rainier Police Chief Ralph Painter will be on hand to throw out the ceremonial first pitch, and an incredible fireworks display concludes what should be an extra special night.

Youngsters will be center of attention at many home games this summer. The Riverview Community Bank "Dash 4 Cash" is on Tuesday July 1st. The Red Lion "Night at the Ballpark" will be an overnight camp-out at Story Field on Friday July 11th, and the Wilco Kids Farm Scramble for hundreds of dollars in change hidden in mounds of straw, will be on Saturday July 12th.

Military Appreciation Night is Wednesday July 2nd, presented by Pacific Tech Construction and Western Fabrication. All military personnel (active or retired)  recieve free admission to the game with their military ID. A holiday fireworks spectacular will follow at the conclusion of the game.

Saturday July 19th marks the return of Bob Crisman's Gallery of Diamonds Ladies Diamond Dig. The first 300 women 18 and over will recieve a shovel when entering the park, and three lucky ladies will take home real diamond rings that are buried somewhere on the warning track at Story Field.

Bud Clary Subaru is presenting a brand new opportunity for a lucky Black Bears fan to win a brand new car. If the 4th Black Bears batter, in the 4th inning, hits a Grand Slam, one fan will win a brand new Subaru. The fans in attendance that night will recieve a ticket for the drawing at the end of the game. You must be present to win the new car.

Fibre Federal Credit Union is new presenter of Wednesday Family Night, every Wednesday during the season.  All fans showing their  Fibre Federal membership card upon purchaing a ticket will recieve $5 off that ticket.

"To say we are committed to providing the most exciting and fun experience at our games is an understatement," said Black Bears General Manager Jim Appleby. "We will pull out all the stops to make sure everyone that comes to a Black Bears game at Story Field will have a really great time," adds Appleby.

The Black Bears will play 33 home games throughout the summer, starting on Thursday, June 5th at 6:35 pm. Tickets for all games are available now by calling (360) 703-3195 or purchase on-line at
