Longview, WA- The Cowlitz Black Bears (19-31) gave the ball to Emilio Foden (CWU; 1-4, 5.72 ERA), he struggled his way through six innings, surrendering ten hits and six earned runs to the Bellingham Bells (31-19). The Bells came out very aggressive a night after they were held to one run, Aaron Stroosma upped his season total to 35 stolen bases (league record) with three stolen bases against your Black Bears.
The Bells knocked across three doubles from Harris, Olis and Scott and one triple from KJ Brady as they grab game two by a final of 6-3. Andrew Kemmerer (4-0, 1.45 ERA) tossed a one hit shutout through his seven innings, to grab his fourth win of the season, allowing just two walks and recording two strikeouts.
Your Black Bears scattered five hits with another RBI from Dominic DeMarco (UNM) during his 1-for-4 outing, DeMarco’s 12th RBI of the season. Ryan Aguilar (Univ. of Arizona) also brought in a run his 25th RBI of the season and Curtis Perrin (Seattle) sent a run across home plate with a bases loaded walk, one of two walks for Perrin in his 1-for-1 night. Casey Henderson (UC Riverside) tied with Isaac Benard (Mt. Hood) for the team lead in doubles with his 10th of the season and he finished 1-for-2 with a run scored.
The rally would fall short as the Bears left the bases loaded against reliever Brian Way. Way locked down his 7th save of the season, which currently sits, tied for 3rd in the West Coast League with Harrison McGhee of Corvallis.
