Victoria, B.C.- Cowlitz had a much better night in game two but still came up short to Victoria 8-6 to lose the series.
In the bottom of the eighth with the score tied at four Cameron Cannon hit an RBI double down the left field line to score Matt Lautz. The next batter Jake Stone hit an RBI single to score Cannon to give the Harbourcats an insurance run.
Holden Lyons pitched the final two innings for Victoria striking out four batters and allowing only one hit to get the win. Jacob Worrell (JR, UC Riverside) took the loss dropping his first decision of the season.
The game started well for the Black Bears as Weston Hatten (SO, Washington State) hit a three-run homer in the top of the first to give Cowlitz a 3-0 lead.
But Victoria answered right away in the bottom half of the inning. Ben Polschuk hit an RBI double. The next batter PJ Floyd hit an RBI single to cut the deficit to 3-2.
The Harbourcats took their first lead in the fourth. Riley Guntrip and Cody Snider hit back-to-back solo home runs to almost the exact same spot in right field to go up 4-3.
In the top of the fifth the Black Bears loaded the bases and Lorin Archibald (SO, Oklahoma) drew a walk to score Tim Jones (SO, Northwest Nazarene) to tie the game at four.
The victory gave Victoria their longest winning streak in franchise history at ten games.
The Black Bears will try and avoid being swept tommorow at 1:05. Kevin Baker (SO, RHP University of Portland) will take the hill against Will McAffer (FR, South Dakota State).
