Three Bears make All-Star Game

Longview, Wash.- The West Coast League has announced Devlin Granberg (SR Dallas Baptist), Kona Quiggle (SO Grand Canyon) and Cowlitz staff ace Corbin Powers (LHP R-SR University of Portland) will represent the South Division at the 2017 All-Star Game hosted by the Yakima Valley Pippins.

   Powers has made five starts this summer recording a 2-2 record with a 4.24 ERA. Powers is currently fourth in the WCL in strikeouts with 34 in a Cowlitz team high 29.2 innings pitched.

   Granberg has made 15 starts for the Black Bears so far this summer and is hitting at a .359 clip. Granberg is the team leader in home runs with three and has 14 RBI, five doubles and one triple to go along with that. The DBU outfielder is slugging an impressive .609 and has a .446 on base percentage.

   Quiggle has made 25 starts for Cowlitz. The GCU outfielder has a .253 batting average, 13 RBI, one home run, six doubles and one triple. Quiggle is slugging at a .368 clip with an on base percentage of .360.

   The Pippins are hosting the All-Star Game on Tuesday, July 18th for the first time in their history. The Black Bears hosted the mid-summer classic last year for the first time ever.
