Black Bears Lose Series to AppleSox

            In another first of the inaugural season, the Cowlitz Black Bears lost a three-game series by losing to the Wenatchee AppleSox, 4-0, on Wednesday night in Wenatchee.

            The Black Bears were unable to score, even though they combined for seven hits and left 13 runners on base through nine innings. The AppleSox were able to score in three different innings with only one Black Bear error.

            Kirk Lind was the losing pitcher for the Black Bears.

            The Black Bears will now travel back to Longview to start a three-game series against the Bend Elks on Friday, June 25. The game will start at 6:35 p.m. at Story Field.  Friday night will be Firefighters Night and the Spitball Gang will be on hand to entertain fans. Tickets for Friday’s game and all other Black Bears home games are on sale at the Ticket Office in the left-field corner of Story Field.
