The Black Bears go to Yakima for the first road series of 2025, as they will face the Yakima Valley Pippins in a three-game weekend series.
The Bears and Pippins split their 2024 season series 3-3, Cowlitz sweeping Yakima Valley at home on June 21-23 and the Pippins getting a sweep at home on July 2-4. The Pippins, like the Black Bears, went 21-33 in 2024 and missed the playoffs, going 9-18 in the first half of the season and 12-15 in the second half.

Yakima Valley took on the Wenatchee AppleSox this past weekend in the first interdivision series of the season. The Pippins took the first game of the series, but lost the next two to the AppleSox by a combined score of 27-4, starting the season 1-2. The Pippins are in the midst of their first home series against the Walla Walla Sweets. After this weekend, Yakima Valley will go back on the road to take on the Ridgefield Raptors in a midweek series. The Black Bears will head back home after the Pippins series to take on the newest WCL team, the Marion Berries, for the first time.
The Black Bears-Pippins series begins on Friday at 6:35 p.m. at Yakima County Stadium.
