The Cowlitz Black Bears open up their 2024 season on Thursday, May 30, on the road facing the Ridgefield Raptors. The first pitch is scheduled for 6.35 p.m. at the Ridgefield Outdoor Recreation Complex.

The Black Bears look to build off a successful 2023 campaign, in which the team finished 33-21 in the regular season, clinching the second West Coast League playoff berth in franchise history. The Raptors also made the playoffs in 2023 and look to start 2024 off on the right foot. The Raptors took the season series 4-3 last year. The Black Bears will look to reclaim the Columbia River Cup from the Raptors who have won the trophy two seasons in a row.

Fourteen-year MLB veteran and Cowlitz manager Kelly Stinnett gears up for his second season at the helm of the Black Bears.

This year’s roster brings in some of the best collegiate baseball talent from around the country. Some schools include UC Santa Barbara, Dallas Baptist, Purdue, Portland, Gonzaga, and many more!

The Black Bears home opener at David Story Field will be tomorrow as they take on the reigning WCL champs Corvallis Knights in a three-game set May 31-June 2. For more information about upcoming games, stats, or tickets; follow us on social media: X (Twitter) (@CowlitzBBears), Facebook, and Instagram (@cowlitzblackbears).
