The Cowlitz Black Bears are happy to announce the signing of Pacific Lutheran University sophomore Andy Schmitz.
Schmitz is a talented outfielder for the Lutes and has the ability to play all three outfield spots. Offensively, Schmitz can swing it. He was the Northwest Conference Freshman of the Year in 2019, where he hit .333 with 51 hits in 41 games in the NWC.
“We have added another very athletic player who will contribute both offensively and defensively for us this season,” Head Coach Grady Tweit said.
Schmitz is from Aurora, Oregon, where he played at North Marion High School.
