The Cowlitz Black Bears have signed OF Elliott Cary for the remainder of the 2014 season. Cary, a 6'3" outfielder headed to Oregon State in the fall, was the Three Rivers League Player of the Year while at Clackamas High School. Cary was selected in the 32nd Round of the MLB Draft by the Washington Nationals. He will be in Longview for tonights game against the Portland Lobos, then will join the team on a road trip that starts Thursday at division leading Bellingham. " We are really excited for Elliott to get here and meet his teammates," said Black Bears General Manager Jim Appleby. " He was a real blessing to us as our outfield has gone through some injuries and trials." "Thanks to Director of Player Personnel Korey Kier and Head Coach Tim Matz, we can now call Elliott one of our own, and we welcome him to the Cowlitz Black Bear family," added Appleby.
