The Black Bears spend another weekend on the road, heading to eastern Washington to face off against the Walla Walla Sweets in a three-game series.
The Sweets and Bears split the season series last season, 3-3. Cowlitz swept Walla Walla at home July 19-21, and Walla Walla got the sweep at home August 2-4. Walla Walla finished 21-33 like the Black Bears in 2024 and missed the playoffs.
The Bears are in the midst of a three-game home series against the Marion Berries, in which they have lost the first two games by two runs each. They are looking to avoid the sweep and get their first home win of the season tonight against Marion.

The Sweets are currently 6-5 after losing the first two of their three-game road series against the Portland Pickles, who are on a historic 11-game winning streak to start the season. Walla Walla’s two losses come after sweeping the Ridgefield Raptors in their home weekend series. This series against Cowlitz begins a six-game homestand against the Bears and the Kamloops Northpaws of the North Division. The Sweets are second in the South but are still five games back of the 11-0 Pickles.
The Black Bears-Sweets series begins on Friday at 6:35 p.m. at Borleske Stadium. Game two on Saturday will also take place at 6:35 p.m. and the Sunday finale will be at 6:05 p.m..
