The Cowlitz Black Bears return to action following the West Coast League All-Star Game this weekend hosting the Walla Walla Sweets.

This series will conclude a ten-game homestand and the beginning of the Black Bears’ late-season playoff push. With little margin for error, the intensity of late-season baseball will build with every game the Black Bears play the rest of the way.

There are only three more home series this season at David Story Field! Come out and enjoy one of the best family-friendly experiences in Cowlitz County! After this weekend the Black Bears will welcome the Raptors and the Pickles from Fri., July 26-July 29, and Tues. Jul. 30-Aug. 1.

Don’t miss out on any of our exclusive promotions! This Saturday, July 20, will be our annual fireworks show following the conclusion of Saturday’s 6:35 p.m. game against the Sweets presented by Pacific Tech Construction and Western Fabrication. Coming up next Saturday, July 27 when the Black Bears take on the Raptors, will be Kids Dash for Cash. Kids 14 and under will go on the field to dash for their share of $1,000 cash!

The Sweets are 2-8 in the second-half of WCL play. Walla Walla is playing under the same circumstances as the Black Bears; with their backs up against the wall, in need of series wins. This weekend has the potential to feel like a postseason series with pressure and tension rising down the stretch.

The Sweets-Black Bears series will begin on Friday at 6:35 p.m. at David Story Field. Game 2 on Saturday is scheduled for 6:35 p.m., and the series finale will also begin at 1:05 p.m. on Sunday.
